A favourite of the Corydon Avenue crowd, Kristina’s offers a casual urban experience. The most contemporary interior of all the city’s Greek restaurants, it is usually filled with neighbourhood regulars. The menu’s star is the textural avgolemono soup. Kristina’s version of the traditional lemon and egg soup is zestier than most and the generous portion is eagerly slurped down. Saganaki is also done well. A sizzling plate of kefalograviera cheese arrives at the table, doused in metaxa brandy and flambéed by your waiter. This spectacle is not only entertaining, but the sharp alcohol aids in cutting the richness of the cheese.
