What’s the hardest part about running a marathon a day—for a year? According to Matt Hill, it’s struggling to inform the public about the whole mission. (“No, that’s Run for One Planet, ma’am, not Run for a Plant.”) For Stephanie Tait, it’s the more practical problem of “getting up every day and having no choice but to run even if my legs feel like pudding!” The local duo embarked on their 17,700-km (11,000-mi) journey one year ago, hoping to inspire environmental action across North America. Their odyssey ends May 8 when they run across the Lion’s Gate bridge, through Stanley Park and into the newly expanded Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre to kick off Epic: The Vancouver Sun Sustainable Living Expo (listed below). What’s next for the pair of marathonaholics? Find out at www.runforoneplanet.com.
