This multi-day ski across Continental Divide glaciers is a quintessential Canadian Rockies experience, and as different from a Fairmont hotel stay as you can get. The traverse begins at Peyto Lake or Bow Lake on the Icefields Parkway and ends at West Louise Lodge on the TransCanada Hwy. En route are towering seracs, granite spires, high cols, and four cozy (but basic) alpine huts, plus slopes for powder turns. Watch for crevasses, avalanche terrain and whiteouts.
