During a soak in the 40°C (104°F) Banff Upper Hot Springs you might wonder how these waters came to be. Precipitation that seeps into Rundle Mountain’s western slope descends through 3 km (2 mi) of sedimentary rock where it’s heated, pressurized and mineral-enriched.
