Until Jan. 2, 2011: 'The Horse' explores the profound relationship between horses and humans through artifacts, models, dioramas, art, interactive stations, and high-definition videos.
Until Feb. 6, 2011: 'Profit and Ambition: The Canadian Fur Trade, 1779–1821' tells the epic story of the North West Company, a commercial outfit that included French-Canadian entrepreneurs and voyageurs, Scottish explorers, Métis bison-hunters, and Aboriginal trappers and guides that was for many years the Hudson's Bay Company's greatest rival. The exhibit features 250 artifacts, such as period European and Aboriginal trade goods, historical documents, and paintings, and traces the rise and fall of this mercantile empire.
Oct. 8 to Jan. 23, 2011: 'Haida: Life. Spirit. Art' provides a rare chance to see more than 80 objects from the McCord Museum’s collection of 18th and 19th century Haida masterpieces. These remarkable works, including carved feast bowls, bentwood boxes, masks, rattles, argillite sculptures, and a woven and painted hat, provide fascinating insights into the Northwest Coast culture. Also on view are artworks by renowned Haida artist Robert Davidson.
Special events: Sept. 11: 'Yeeeee Haaa!' Put on your boots, chaps and cowboy hat for an evening of western fun, featuring performances from the Wild West, lasso lessons, hoedown dancing, western flicks, and some Texas hold ‘em poker in the Grand Hall ($25).

May 1 to June 30: Open Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm; Saturday and Sunday, 9.30am to 6pm; Thursday, 9am to 8pm.
