Ongoing: The museum's collection has been mined for treasures that help to tell the story of Canadian electric and electronic communications in 'Nortel Connexions.' Museum-goers can explore the evolution of communications through television, telephones, telecommunications, and broadcasting. Until April 18: In ‘Hungry Planet,’ visitors can discover the ways in which food is important to different countries and cultures around the world by focusing on the eating habits of 25 families from 21 countries. Special events: March 23 to 26 and 30 to April 1: In Curriculum Days, students take part in two 45-minute hands-on workshops geared to their grade level. For grades 1 to 6. April 22: The museum hosts is first-ever Science and Tech Soirée, the theme of which is 'The Magic of the Museum.' Funds raised will be used to support youth access to museum education programs. $195. May 18 and 19: To celebrate International Museums Day, the Canada Science and Technology Museum invites visitors to go behind the scenes and see how the artifacts are collected, restored, preserved, and stored. Reserve early to get a spot. $7 per student. June 7 to 11 and 14 to 18: In Summer Fun Days, students celebrate the end of the school year at the museum, where they can engage in a variety of activities and presentations. Kids can explore movie-making, chromatography, crime-solving, roller coaster building, rocket-launching and more. For grades 1 to 8.June 22: 'In Search of the Canadian Car' explores what makes an automobile Canadian, from design to fabrication to marketing. Unique cars from the museum's collection, memorabilia, and promotional materials are on display, and visitors can cast a vote for the most Canadian car. Museum admission: $7.50; seniors and students: $5; children under 14: $3.50; children three and under: free; families (two adults, three children): $18. Until May 1, 2010: Open Tuesday to Sunday, 9am to 5pm. Closed Mondays except holidays.
