1. THE NOSTALGIA SHOW
The world was introduced to Joan Jett in the first all-girls rock band, the Runaways, which you may recognize as the title of the 2010 biopic. She now fronts the band Joan Jett and the Blackhearts with songs like ‘I Hate Myself for Loving You,’ and dance floors everywhere are thankful she first belted out ‘I Love Rock N’ Roll.’
July 9: 9.30pm at MBNA stage

2. THE CANADIAN SHOW
Canuck darlings Arcade Fire are known for their mesmerizing performances, which include piano, violin, cello, xylophone, glockenspiel, accordion, and other instruments that contribute to their eclectic sound. The albums Funeral and Neon Bible made countless top ten lists, and were both nominated for Grammy Awards.

3. THE INDIE SHOW
With heavy guitar riffs, lead singer Craig Finn’s growly voice, and narrative lyrics, The Hold Steady puts on a show that harkens back to the glory days of rock and roll. Listen for their signature piano and guitar solos on songs like ‘First Night,’ off their Boys and Girls in America album, which was on Rolling Stone’s albums of the year list in 2006.
July 17: 7.45pm at the Subway stage

4. THE BLUES SHOW
When Carolyn Wonderland sings the blues, you’ll be feeling anything but. This Texas singer serves up traditional smoky blues and soulful songwriting, then throws in some slamming guitar. Don’t be surprised if she also takes a turn on the trumpet, piano, and mandolin.
July 10: 7.45pm and July 11 at 5.45pm at the Subway stage

5. THE VARIETY SHOW
In Mayfair Presents Night of the Living Dead Live, the zombie classic gets a facelift. This creative re-imagining features the horror movie, plus a cast of local actors reciting the film’s dialogue, while members of the band the Hilotrons provide the ominous music. Watch for the film’s director, George A. Romero, at the show on July 17.
July 16: 9pm and July 17 at 9pm at Barney Danson Theatre (1 Vimy Place)

6. THE “IT” SHOW
You might remember Drake from his days on Degrassi: The Next Generation, but this hip-hop newcomer has graduated and paired with industry heavyweight Lil Wayne. You’ve no doubt found yourself humming the smash hit ‘Best I Ever Had.’ So early in his career and Drake has already collaborated with Eminem, Kanye West, and Jay-Z, leaving no doubt that 2010 is his year.
July 16: 8pm at the Claridge Homes stage

7. THE HOLLYWOOD SHOW
Those who love Kevin Bacon will enjoy seeing him get “footloose” with his band The Bacon Brothers (featuring his brother, Michael). Fourteen years and six albums later, these boys prove that just because you’re a movie star, doesn’t mean you can’t rock on the stage.
