Bonus You Are Here: Liberty Village

Earlier we offered up a half-dozen of our favourite shops, restaurants and services
in Liberty Village. Of course, there are many more where those came from!

Bar Vespa (photo by Alexandra Grigorescu)

TASTE OF ITALY Everything—from the decor to the beer on tap to the pizza-dough flour—is distinctly Italian at Bar Vespa. On the menu: classic Italian comfort food including the Pancetta and Goat Cheese Pizza and their sweet and savoury Butternut Squash Ravioli. And unlike neighboring restaurants, Bar Vespa boasts a kids’ menu, too. Enjoy lunch or dinner in their brick-walled dining room or gather on the patio for some house-made gelato.

DESIGNER DEN California-based decor store West Elm has only one location in the Canada and it just happens to anchor the shopping experience in Liberty Village. Here you’ll find everything for the modern home, including furniture, bath and bedding, lighting and kitchen and dining items. With a variety of multifunctional options and great designs, you’ll never be short of ideas for any of your spaces, big or small.

Cadeaux Boutique (photo by Alexandra Grigorescu)

PRESENT COMPANY Modest Cadeaux Boutique carries a huge collection of gifts, ornaments and handmade greeting cards. Most items—including hand-painted glassware, vases and soy candles—are crafted by Canadian artisans. Also popular are kids’ one-of-a-kind stuffed toys and custom-embroidered bathrobes. 171 East Liberty St., Unit 139, 416-203-6912

HANDS AND FEET AND MORE You can get a manicure at the black marble bar or relax at one of their sleek pedicure stations at Noir Nail Bar. Choose from a diverse menu of services—whether you need a quickie treatment or an elaborate nail enhancement, Noir offers it all. The boutique also employs experienced estheticians to take care of your make-up needs. Another bit of pampering: Noir offers its patrons complimentary wi-fi while you wait.

Demo Soap Studio (photo by Alexandra Grigorescu)

CLEAN AS CAN BE A flood of lovely scents greets you upon entering Demo Soap Studio. The little boutique and workshop proffers it’s own line of soaps made with vegetable oil–based glycerin and such essential oils as rose, lavender, eucalyptus and spearmint. Mix and match from a variety of shapes and fragrances—as well as various body creams and butters—or select from a range of gift sets.

LOCAL HAUNT One of the area’s newer dining options, Williams Landing features a superior spread of North American dishes—steaks, salads, sandwiches and the like—created with local ingredients. The burgers are also highly touted; try the Bliss BBQ burger with smoked pulled pork, or the turkey burger with apple cider cabbage slaw. The chic modern dining room and large upper-level patio are equally favoured by locals looking for a good time with food and friends.
