In Ottawa, all roads lead to the Hill. On July 1, Parliament Hill is the epicentre for Canada’s birthday celebrations. And throughout the summer it’s bursting with activity—from concerts to fireworks, protests to people watching, there’s always something happening on the Hill. Stroll through the gardens, or, once it gets dark, pull up a lawn chair and enjoy Mosaika: a spectacular sound and light show that tells the story of Canada and its peoples. Mosaika happens every night from July 8 to September 6.
This year’s Canada Day celebrations on the Hill include artists such as Daniel Lavoie, Marianas Trench, Lauren Mann and the Fairly Odd Folk, Paper Lions, and Serena Ryder. There will also be a flag raising ceremony, the changing of the guard, swing dancing, and fireworks.
