Hot Dates in Halifax: February

Halifax International Boat Show returns February 21-24

Throughout February: ViewPoint Gallery features The Soto/Hasid Project. Through 18 portraits, photographer Adrian Fish juxtaposes his Buddhist beliefs and Jewish roots.

February 15: Dartmouth Community Concert Association presents piano wunderkind Todd Yaniw as he makes a rare trip to the East Coast. Since he burst onto the scene at age 13, he’s been a rising star in Canadian classical music.

February 21 to 24: With product demonstrations, all manner of accessories, expert panels and, of course, watercraft aplenty, the Halifax International Boat Show is the biggest event of the year for both sailors and power-boaters in Nova Scotia. With dozens of exhibitors under one roof, the show has plenty for both novices and old salts.

February 23:  Canadian country star Dean Brody plays an intimate concert in the Schooner Showroom at Casino Nova Scotia on Upper Water Street.

February 24:  Acerbic comedian Jeremy Hotz, a favourite from Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival, brings his Magical Misery Tour to the Dalhousie Arts Centre.
