Granville Island
Where Profile
This visitor-friendly oasis in the middle of the city is a lively collection of renovated warehouses transformed into theatres, artists’ studios, craft and marine-supply shops, and a thriving public market known for fresh seafood and produce. The island, in fact a peninsula, is also home to Kids Market, a kids’ waterpark, brewery, boutique hotel and several restaurants, many with outdoor patios. Summer farmers’ markets add to the vibrant atmosphere. The seawall around False Creek is easily reached from Anderson St. (to Island Walk) on Granville Island’s south side. Mini-ferries connect the island to downtown and other points on False Creek.
