Currently headquartered in Evergreen House, a 15-minute walk from the Dartmouth ferry terminal at Alderney Landing. Built in 1867, the house is steeped in local history. Main floor rooms are furnished in the Victorian style and include mannequins in dress. Evergreen was also home of folklorist Helen Creighton (author of Bluenose Ghosts). Events include exhibits, programming, workshops and a biweekly fund-raising tea. Archival reference service by appointment. Admission is $2 (free for children under 12) and $5 for tea and tour. Open year-round, Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 5pm; Saturday, 10am to 1pm, 2pm to 5pm.
