1.5 hrs north of Lake Louise beside the 230 km (143 mi) long Icefields Parkway is the Columbia Icefield, one of the largest accumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circle. Take a guided tour on the glacier by foot or Ice Explorer. Caution: unguided walks on the Icefield can be dangerous.
