ALEXANDER KEITH'S NOVA SCOTIA BREWERY

The heady aroma of hops permeates the air at Canada's oldest working brewery (dating back to 1820). A historic downtown landmark, the massive granite building offers sights, smells and tastes to delight beer lovers and history buffs. Costumed interpreters guide visitors through a high-spirited walk back in time. Open Monday to Saturday from noon; open Sunday, until October 31. Open November 1 to April 30: Friday, 5pm to 8pm; Saturday, noon to 8pm; Sunday, noon to 5pm.
