How did you become a jewellery designer?
I began experimenting with jewellery in the basement of my childhood home where my father, a high school shop teacher, had a workshop full of tools. When I delivered my first wholesale order in 1981 at the age of 16, I had no idea I had just started something that would later become my professional career. What do you draw inspiration from?
The inspiration comes from the natural world around me. With my designs, I hope to encourage an intimate exchange between each piece of jewellery and the wearer. This kind of communication is not bound by words, geography or ethnicity, but is nurtured by a universal language of shape, symbols and form. The kind of person who wears my jewellery. . . enjoys an understated elegance of the best quality. Where to Buy:Anne Sportun Experimetal Jewellery, Gardiner Museum
