OPENS APRIL 24 Witness a day of madness by attending The Marriage of Figaro. Mozart’s beloved comic opera returns to this city in a brand new staging by Opera Atelier, Canada’s premier producer of Baroque-era music and drama. Starring bass-baritone Olivier Laquerre as the title character and soprano Carla Huhtanen as his fiancée Susanna, Figaro follows two lovers as they attempt to celebrate their nuptials—an effort hilariously impeded by their squabbling employers, the Count and Countess Almaviva. Though more than 200 years old, the sexy romp retains its verve to this day.
