APRIL 23 TO MAY 21 Take a deep breath at MKG127 this month. Canadian artist An Te Liu has installed a tornado-like sculpture of working air purifiers in his exhibition, Blast, the latest in his series of environmentally inspired artworks. The swirling mass of machines, similar to the artist’s previous installation, Cloud, stretches from ceiling to floor and is the focal point of the show. Liu confronts our obsession with hygiene, turning purifiers, dehumidifiers and ionizers into a threatening structure that greedily sucks up air, leaving no particle unclean.
