Sunny skies signal the start of festival season and here in Victoria, there’s no need to wait ‘til summer!
UNO Fest gets things going May 21 to 31. Hosted by Intrepid Theatre, the same talented folks behind the long-running Victoria Fringe Festival, Victoria’s annual 10-day festival highlights a whole host of singular theatre performances.
The inaugural Victoria International Kite Festival is sure to bring a smile to faces young and old when it takes to the skies over Clover Point, on the Victoria waterfront.
The new family-oriented international festival brings together professional kite flyers from across North America and kiting enthusiasts from the local community. On Saturday, enjoy “Open Skies” where you can join the best of the best to fly kites for the day (inexpensive kites will be available for purchase on location), while Sunday brings kids’ kite-making, amazingly large kites, acrobatic kite teams and more!
Discover some of the best Victoria has to offer at VicFest, June 14 on the beautiful grounds of St. Ann’s Academy. A celebration of uniquely local live music, food, craft beer, wine, art and the culture that surrounds it, VicFest is an all ages event for everyone.
The Victoria International JazzFest is up next, June 20 to 29, with a diverse line-up of performers, including headliner Bobby McFerrin and his latest project, “spirityouall.”
The season just keeps rolling for music fans, who will next head to the south Island’s west coast community of Port Renfrew June 27 to 29 for the Tall Tree Music Festival.
And to think, this is only the start of festival season!
