Do bring a sense of adventure, but don’t bring all your friends: The Shameful Tiki Room holds just 50 people. And don’t bother calling for a reservation, because they don’t take reservations. They don’t even have a phone. What they do have is a tiki experience not found anywhere else in Vancouver, complete with over-the-top decor—think tiki carvings and puffer fish lamps—and exotic cocktails that are worth the wait: Zombie, Jet Pilot, Navy Grog, three types of Mai Tai and more. Adding to the ambience are dim lighting, low music and tasty share plates. It’s enough to make you think you’ve landed in another country, in another era, all without leaving Vancouver.
