Hot Entertainment: Mark the End of Vancouver’s Blueberry Season

BC is a blueberry-rich region

Banish those blueberry blues: here in Metro Vancouver, the season is still going strong. The local crop grows well into September, sometimes even October, and BC produces more “nature’s candy” than any other region in the world. Loaded with vitamins, antioxidants, polyphenols and dietary fibre, with very few calories and virtually no fat, the blueberry is a true superfood. Look for local berries on the seasonally changing menus of restaurants such as Wild Rice, or pick your own at the farms listed on www.bcblueberry.com, and you’ll banish those blues—at least until next blueberry season.—Sheri Radford
