Hot Dining: Harbour Views at North Vancouver’s Pier 7

Dive into the Pier 7 Tower for Dungeness crab, oysters, prawns, tuna tataki, mussels and lobster. Photo by KK Law

Perched on North Vancouver’s post-industrial waterfront, newly launched Pier 7 (pictured) sports two levels of harbourside dining with dazzling views of downtown. Early faves on chef Dino Renaerts’ seafood-inclined menu range from crisp calamari with XO sauce and tuna tataki to Salt Spring Island mussels to grilled West Coast spring salmon with roasted polenta cake. To get there, just hop on the SeaBus from downtown. Find more good shoreside tastes at Coal Harbour’s Cardero’s Restaurant Marine Pub, or drop by The Mill Marine Bistro for plentiful pints and laidback bites, a short walk from the Vancouver Convention Centre.—Tim Pawsey
