Even Alice would have to agree that the Royal BC Museum’s satellite location in Chinatown’s historic Wing Sang building is its own kind of wonderland. Curious is a cool collection of BC’s most treasured objects, on loan from the Victoria museum’s archives. You’ll see some of artist Emily Carr’s earlier works and masterpieces (“Sombreness Sunlit,” pictured), as well as sketches and diary entries chronicling her private life. Other historical items worth checking out: dream-like lantern slides and preserved creatures that exhibit our province’s species diversity. Don’t forget to play the game “Artifact | Artifiction” to detect if curator statements are true or false. It may not be croquet, but Alice would still approve.—Kristina Urquhart
