What’s in a name? For artists and mother-daughter team Adele and Lisa Samphire, it’s a lot. The women share their surname with the samphire plant, a seaside succulent that produces the soda ash used in pottery glazes and glass-making. Conveniently, those are also the artists’ mediums of choice. Browse potter Adele’s clay works and glass-blower Lisa’s colourful creations (“Window Murrine Series,” pictured) in Samphire Fusion at Circle Craft Shop and Gallery (Jul. 6 to 31). Besides a shared last name, you’ll notice the pair’s similar interest in pattern and texture, influenced by nature, wallpaper and Middle Eastern textiles.—Kristina Urquhart
