Cuba may conjure images of steamy rumba dances and cigars, but Without Masks: Contemporary Afro-Cuban Art unmasks another side of the Caribbean nation. The largest exhibit of Afro-Cuban art in the world explores the impact of African culture on the country through 31 Cuban artists. See works in diverse media, including Ruperto Jay Matamoros’s super-saturated oil-on-canvas “Flores de la Tierra” (pictured), at the Museum of Anthropology May 2 to Nov. 2. Walk or rumba there, just be certain not to miss it.
