There may be a chill in the air, but farm-fresh produce, artisan fare and handicrafts can still be found at the Winter Farmers Market. Browse the stalls at Nat Bailey Stadium for a sampling of the region’s diverse bounty, Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pick up handmade cheeses from Little Qualicum Cheeseworks, fresh baking from A Bread Affair and Blackberry Hill, Fraser Valley honey from Jane’s Honey Bees, and colourful chocolates from Coconama Chocolate Co. Or snag a souvenir, including hand-forged silver jewellery from Ildiko Jewelry, unique fabric design from Maritime Blues, and collage and paper goods from Curio and Craft. Then warm up with hearty and seasonal food cart offerings from JJ’s Trucketeria and specialty coffee from The Bean Buggy. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the local harvest.
