Ellesmere is elementally outsized: It’s the tenth largest island in the world, and Quttinirpaaq National Park is the second-largest national park in Canada. The remote region has a great variety of wildlife: wolves, caribou, muskoxen and Arctic hares. Travel here requires either charter flights and backcountry camping or a cruise aboard an icebreaker that takes a side trip to Greenland.
