The winter jackets may not be in storage yet, but April brings a few harbingers of spring in most of Canada, in the form of daffodils, tulips, flowering trees and those first hardy wildflowers.

Flower festivals and events start in earnest this month and continue into June. Note that weird weather patterns have been affecting some species—tulip growers in the Fraser Valley are anticipating a later start to the season, for example—so call ahead before planning any outings to make sure fields are in full bloom.
