An annual contest to find the best bathroom in Canada is underway, seeking, as contest host Cintas quips, to crown the “king of the throne”.
Five finalists from across the country have been chosen in the battle of the bathrooms, ranging from a French renaissance–inspired washroom at nightclub This Is London in Toronto, Ontario, to brightly modern lavatory at a vocational school in Repentigny, Quebec. The most unusual choice may be the Langley Street Loo in Victoria, British Columbia: a solar-powered, stainless steel outdoor facility on the street near Bastion Square downtown. Other finalists are the Georgian Court Hotel in Vancouver and Earls restaurant in Toronto.
The criteria for nominees were cleanliness, visual appeal, innovation, functionality and unique design elements.
Until October 12, you can vote for the best bathroom in Canada and flush out the competition (sorry—we couldn’t help ourselves). Don’t see your preferred privy on the list? Cintas is also already accepting nominees for the 2013 best bathroom contest.
The contest has run since 2012. Past winners in Canada were e11even restaurant in Toronto and the Cactus Club Cafe in Vancouver.
