Business travellers gave an 83% approval rating to Canada’s third-largest airline, Porter Airlines, according to a recent survey by independent international marketing research firm Ipsos. The Ispos Canadian Business Travel Study has been conducted annually for two decades, and monitors opinions and habits of travellers who take six or more flights for business per year. The report is not available to the general public.
This rating was 23% higher than the one awarded to the second-most-popular airline in the survey. For those of us who have flown Porter it’s no surprise that the top reasons for the positive reviews were the downtown location of the airline’s Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, the airline’s attitude and the friendly staff. (The free cookies and bottles of locally brewed Steam Whistle pilsener couldn’t have hurt, either.) Porter launched in 2006 and flies to select cities in eastern Canada and the northeastern US.
