For the first long weekend of spring, Canadians are happily hopping to the big cities for their Easter weekend. Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver are the top three choices in Canada for an urban holiday according to a recent survey from Hotwire.com.
The top ten most popular Easter weekend destinations for Canadians on Hotwire were:
|1. New York City|
7. Las Vegas
8. San Francisco
Given recent airfare sales from Air Canada, WestJet and Porter Airlines and the traditional slowing of business travel on a holiday long weekend, there are excellent deals to be found. And in cities across Canada, hotel prices have been extremely reasonable: travellers using Hotwire have found Toronto hotel rooms for an average of $84, Montreal rooms for $91 and Vancouver found deals at $89 per night.
These rates were snapped up by those booking before March 10, but you may still be able to find a last-minute deal, especially by booking an all-suites hotel or other accommodation popular with business travellers, who usually aren’t on the road for work on holiday weekends.
