The Comic and Entertainment Expo will feature a variety of retailers and vendors, workshops and seminars, live comedy shows, panel discussions with some of the top names in the comic, gaming, and entertainment industry, and a costume contest. The much-anticipated costume contest is on Saturday, October 20 at 6:15 pm, and if you’re interested in showing off your talents with a costume of your own — think of it as a trial run before Halloween! — register for the competition here. Another exclusive feature of this event will be the opportunity to meet with members of BioWare, one of the biggest video game labels, and learn about the newest games and about working in the video game industry.

The most exciting feature of the Expo is the opportunity to meet the actors who have portrayed some of the most iconic characters in fantasy film and television. Celebrities will be available to meet fans, sign autographs, take part in panel discussions, and Q&A sessions. Featured guests include Burt Ward (Batman TV series), Billy Dee Williams (Lando from Star Wars Episodes V and VI), Charisma Carpenter (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and Nichelle Nichols (Star Trek). WHERE Edmonton interviewed the iconic Nichelle Nichols, who is most recognized for her role as Lieutenant Uhura in the original Star Trek television show, and will be at the Expo this weekend. Read the full interview here. Photo ops with the guests are not included in the general admission price; they must be pre-purchased online or at the Photo Op Sales Area at the Expo prior to the scheduled photo.

Tickets should be purchased online in advance to guarantee entry (and to receive a discount). General Admission $15.00; Weekend Pass $25.00; Children under 10 are Free. A select number of tickets will be available at the door; General Admission $20.00; Weekend Pass $30.00; Children under 10 are Free.

UPDATE (10/17/12): Adam West regrettably had to cancel his appearance at the Expo due to a serious back injury (Bane?!). Tickets can be refunded at any Ticketmaster Retail Outlet, or by phoning 1-800-745-3000. Photo op refunds can be obtained by emailing edmontonexpo@conaddict.com. Added to the guest roster, however, are Julie Newmar (Catwoman in the Batman TV series), Misha Collins (Supernatural), and Lee Majors (Six Million Dollar Man).
