Don your best cowboy hat, put on some plaid, and take in all the fun and excitement of three events that celebrate the best in Edmonton’s agriculture and western heritage! From November 2 – 11, three events offer up a plethora of activities – many of which are free! – featuring everything from family entertainment to superstar country musicians to beer-fueled nightlife. Here are some of the highlights:
River City Round Up (Nov 2 -11): This city-wide festival is the celebration of all things country! The kick-off festivities will set the the bar high for ten days of fun, with a FREE performance by Canadian Country Music Legend George Canyon on November 3 at 5:30 pm, followed by a spectacular fireworks display. Throughout the week, various activities include a chili cook-off, pancake breakfasts, family crafts and games, beer gardens, live music and entertainment, cultural performances, and food trucks. Canadian Finals Rodeo (Nov 7 -11): Take in the thrilling action of rodeo events like barrel racing, bull riding, and steer wrestling. On November 7 enjoy a live performance by country superstar Dean Brody, and on November 8 watch the very talented and popular Chris Young perform. Nightly shows begin at 7 pm, with 1 pm matinee performances on Saturday and Sunday (Nov 10 – 11). FarmFair International (Nov 4 – 11): This agricultural show features an extensive line-up of events, including activities and entertainment in Kid’s Country for children, cold drinks and a relaxed, 18+ atmosphere in The Saloon lounge, delicious barbecue food at The Buckle, and shopping for western wear and tack in The RAM Country Marketplace.
