The last weekend in March is full of fun events for the little ones, golf enthusiasts and filmmakers alike. Here are a few events around Calgary where you can enjoy the weekend.
Bring your imagination and travel through the 1930′s, 50′s and 60′s at Spring Rally in The Alley in Gasoline Alley Museum at Heritage Park. Design a car of the future, check out old cars, play games and build a miniature version of the Glenmore dam. This event goes until April 1. The 48-Hour Movie Making Challenge is a fast-paced weekend in which participating teams have 48 hours to write, shoot and edit a short film, 2 to 5 minutes in length. The event kicks off at Tubby Dog on March 30. Teams receive a randomly selected genre, prop and line of dialogue to include in their film. The Great Legendary Easter Hunt begins on March 31 at Butterfield Acres. The Legend of the Easter Bunny will be read aloud before the Easter hunt around the farm begins. The BMO Centre will host the 2012 Calgary Golf Show from March 31 – April 1. April 1 is the last night to catch the zany comedy The 39 Steps at Stage West. This wildly inventive play is based off of an Alfred Hitchcock film mixed with a novel by John Buchan.
