Located in the heart of the Design District, the open concept ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen is a hub for budding chefs and foodies alike. Programming director and Red Seal Chef Laura Kennedy schedules a variety of hands-on cooking classes and demonstrations Thursday through Sunday. “It’s a great social environment, with some of the best food in the city,” says Kennedy.
Lunch N’ Learn demonstrations take place Thursdays and Fridays over the lunch hour, 12 pm to 1 pm ($20). These demos include ethnic cuisine such as authentic pad Thai as well as spicy Vietnamese pho (soup) and hand-made spring rolls. These casual sessions often constitute a fun break for busy professionals working in the downtown area. Once the day’s dish has been prepared, class participants promptly eat it for lunch. Evening classes and private bookings are also offered.
